Water Play in Spanish: Learn Spanish With Pictures

Talk about this photograph of children playing in a pool to help kids learn Spanish. The questions that follow are ordered to help children master the vocabulary for water play in Spanish and gain confidence with the language.

Spanish words for water play in Spanish are easy to learn if children hear them in context. The photo of the kids playing in a pool provides the visual cues kids need to understand vocabulary related to water. The description incorporates useful words for water play in Spanish, such as pool, water, splash, wet and swimming suit. Then, the questions reinforce the new language by using it in small, manageable quantities. You can also find a printable list of Spanish water vocabulary here. This activity has the same structure  the other Learn Spanish with Pictures activities have. To talk about water play in Spanish, start with Describe The Photo (1) and be sure to point to the people and objects in the picture as you talk about them. Use gestures, facial expressions and actions to help your child understand what the words mean.

When your child understands the key words, ask questions about water play in Spanish from Choose The Answer (2) and Pointing And Counting (3).

Ask the questions in Yes and No (4) to practice more of the vocabulary for playing in water in Spanish used in the description. If your child is comfortable enough with the Spanish words to produce them easily, include the questions in Say A Little More (5). These questions are followed by what is called a “forced-choice” question. If children have a hard time answering the question, offer them the choices to make it easier.
